What your avatar remembers
Avatar memory works on two levels:
- Short-term context โ with Memory enabled in the Studio, the avatar keeps its recent comments (depth configurable from 1 to 50 messages) as context, so it won't repeat itself and can call back to something it said earlier in the stream.
- Session memories โ when a session ends, notable things it learned (your preferences, running jokes, what you've been playing) are extracted and carried into future sessions, across both the Co-Host and the Companion.
Anything said in a Companion session with Private Mode on is never extracted โ it stays in that session and dies with it.
Higher memory depth makes conversations feel more continuous but uses more context per response. If your avatar starts rambling about old topics, dial the depth down.
